Cestou do Edinburghu (o tom zítra) jsem se pustil - jako anglický gentleman - do Timesů. Jeden se nestačí divit. Jsem tu už téměř dva měsíce a pořád se divím. Možná to nebude Anglií, ale mnou. O tom jsem psát nechtěl, takže zpět k tématu.
Na třetí straně byl pouze jeden rozsáhlý článek. Byl o tom, že národní galerie má nového ředitele (Nicholas Penny), který upřednostňuje méně známé autory a za cíl si klade divákům je dobře představit. Takže namísto superpopulárních impresionistů připravil výstavu italského divizionismu (Giovanni Segantini, Luigi Russolo, Giuseppe Pellizza).
U nás by se tohle nestalo.
verze 1) Italští divizionisté by nikdy neměli samostatnou výstavu. (Kdo by to zaplatil?)
verze 2) Takové téma by se do novin vůbec nedostalo, leda ve speciální příloze o kultuře v rozsahu anotace. (Komu to vadí?)

Možná, že kdyby NG v ČR dostala nového ředitele, neodbylo by se to jen anotací, ale druhým Novým rokem. I když těžko říct, komu a kdy náš Castro „předá“ moc.
Segantini byl u nás docela oblíbený, velice dobře zapadal do „umělecké politiky“ počátku století. Volné směry mu věnovaly rozsáhlý článek (nevím, jetli začínal zrovna na s. 3, ale byl dlouhý). Ovšem před sto lety. Z českého pohledu nebyl totiž jako Francouzi, co umí „jen“ vidět, ale necítí a nepřemýšlí. Segantini je symbolický/nikoli literární, a na to Češi slyšeli. Mařák šel sice z impresionismu do kolen a postimpresionismus ten ho snad dostal na smrtelné lože, ale nebylo zbytí, mladým se líbil. Nejlíp dopadl se svou „tranpozicí“ (transofarmací, přebásněním…a další omluvné ekvivalenty) impresionismu Slavíček, Vl. Radu, který se zbláznil a odjel do Giverny, aby maloval jak Monet, česká kritika s lehkým srdcem odkopla. Včera jsem v Hradci Králové (kromě Eduarda Hrubeše, kterého jsem potkala na náměstí s manželkou, ana si fotila kostel Ducha Svatého) viděla jeden Radův obraz, smutné. Anglicky mluvící návštěvníci si ho ani nevšimli a fotili si Váchalovy Vyzývače ďábla. Kustodky se mě opakovaně ptaly (ve všech třech patrech!!), jak se řekne anglicky blesk, aby jim mohly říct to, co oni dávno vědí z NG v GB.
Až na to, že to nebyl Vlastimil Rada, ale Václav Radimský. Popel na hlavě už mám, klečím v koutě na struhadle a probírám se hráchem s čočovicí.
